Veterinary exams keep pet owners and veterinarians on the same page when it comes to the pet’s health. Our veterinarians can assess patients by performing a physical examination and tests that show pictures of external and internal well-being. Our veterinary exams are designed to support the health of your pet by staying informed with the latest developments or changes in their health from the last visit. To schedule a veterinary exam for your pet, give us a call at 403-637-3928.
Our veterinarians will perform a physical examination of your pet’s body. We check for abnormalities in the skin such as lumps, issues with their mobility or posture and we also check their weight. All of their developments are kept on record for comparison in the future. During the exam, the doctor may ask questions about your pet’s lifestyle, behaviours and eating habits. This is where we encourage clients to ask questions and mention any changes they have noticed in their pets. We also check your pet’s vital signs like their breathing and heart rate to make sure everything is normal. The examination includes further testing of their blood and urine to check if their levels are normal and if organs are functioning properly. Our in-house laboratory is well-equipped to process the samples which allows us to deliver the results quickly. If anything shows up during the examination our team will make recommendations for treatment and how to support your furry friend.
All adult pets should have at least one veterinary exam each year. If you’ve just welcomed your pet into your family, you should bring them in for an initial assessment. If your pet is younger or older they may need more than one visit each year. We recommend senior pets have two veterinary exams each year so we can catch any illness before they advance. Puppies and kittens need three veterinary exams each year since they haven’t built up immunity to various illnesses, so they need to be assessed frequently. If your pet has a known condition our team may recommend more than one annual visit to monitor their health.
